About the Administration

Jodi Ancel, Principal

This is Mrs. Ancel’s 2nd year as Principal of Old Post. Before coming here, she was the Assistant Principal at Fox Chase. She grew up in Plainfield and still lives there with her husband, two sons, Jay (17) and Jake (11), and 2 dogs, Mojo and Emma. Mrs. Ancel got her Bachelors Degree from Illinois State University and her Masters Degree from Northern Illinois University. She taught in Plainfield for 18 years before coming to Oswego. She always wanted to be a principal because of her love for helping children.

Mrs. Ancel is thrilled to be a part of the Old Post Community. The students are friendly, respectful, and show a love for learning! The faculty and staff are extremely talented, knowledgeable, fun, and love children. The parents work as a team with the school to make each day a positive educational experience for the students.

Besides being a principal, Mrs. Ancel loves to shop, travel, play golf, and relax with family and friends. She collects teddy bears and Willow Tree angels.

Keith Griffin, Assistant Principal

Mr. Griffin has been a familiar face at Old Post for the past 9 years. During these years he taught third and fourth graders as a classroom teacher. He really enjoys being part of the Old Post learning community. Mr. Griffin is especially fond of the relationships that he has formed with students, parents, and staff members throughout his experience as a Wildcat.

Mr. Griffin is originally from Florida, but spent the majority of his childhood in Aurora, Illinois and currently lives in Montgomery. He received his Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University.

When he’s not at school, you can find Mr. Griffin reading a good book, working in the yard, traveling (the Western US is a favorite spot), jogging, biking, hanging out with family and friends, or playing a round of golf.

Judy Malnick, Principal's Secretary

Mrs. Judy Malnick was born and raised in South Dakota, where she graduated from Dakota State University. She has lived in Illinois with her husband, Greg, for the last 29 years. They have two sons, Nicolaus (31) and Aaron (28).  Mrs. Malnick began her career in District 308 at Boulder Hill School, first as a teachers’ assistant, and then as the attendance secretary. When Old Post opened in 1997, she became the Principal’s Secretary.

Mrs. Malnick enjoys working with children, parents, and staff.  Every day is different, and she enjoys the variety of duties. A sense of humor, a friendly disposition, a joy of being around children, and a need to be able to juggle several tasks simultaneously is a must for her job. Mrs. Malnick also enjoys reading, playing Bunco, board games and cards, taking walks, and lunching with friends. She collects paperweights and angels.
